Aquarium de Paris - Mission company

On January 1, 2024, the Aquarium de Paris adopted the status of mission company, formalizing its historic commitment to informal environmental education, a decisive step in its institutionalization among public and private players working to raise public awareness of contemporary ocean issues.

An Engagement Committee has been appointed to monitor the progress of our engagement objectives (see list of members below). The committee drafts an annual report, which is attached to the annual management report when the annual financial statements are approved.

  • Mélanie Herteman; General ecologist, specializing in wetlands, mangroves and aquatic environment management.
  • Pierre Noël; Doctor of Science, specialist in crustaceans and marine species and researcher with the Patrinat unit at MNHN.
  • Philippe Richard; Diver and underwater photographer
  • Bernard Salvat ; Founder of the Moorea Research Center (CRIOBE)
  • Bernard Seret ; Oceanographer and biologist, specialized in marine ichthyology

The live show is at the heart of the educational program, aimed primarily at young audiences. These performances, designed around environmental messages, provide a fun and striking way of raising awareness of environmental issues.

Learning while having fun
Science mediators use popular characters (Simon, One Piece, Rabbids, The Little Prince) to convey rigorous scientific messages. This use of familiar references facilitates the appropriation of environmental issues by young audiences, while maintaining educational excellence.

 

This dual approach guarantees effective transmission of scientific knowledge while creating an engaging experience for visitors.
