The Aquarium de Paris invites you to come face-to-face with the ocean by giving carte blanche to the painter Sandrot. Discover large-format portraits of marine animals all along the tour route, as you stroll through the basins illustrating an astonishing and fragile marine biodiversity. In collaboration with the French Committee of the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature), the exhibition highlights the Paris Aquarium's educational approach and gives a voice to marine species as diverse as sharks, octopuses and jellyfish. They both frighten and fascinate us. What do they have to teach us?
A portraitist of nature, Sandrot hails from the South of France. His "wild" works, in his own words, are installed in large format on the walls of public buildings. After seeing his work in the IUCN book, it was only natural that the Paris Aquarium should offer him the exceptional setting of its tour route to display his works.
As part of the exhibition, the French Committee of the IUCN is taking part in a series of conferences on conservation actions around the world. To appeal to the whole family, the program includes talks by experts adapted to young audiences.
