Strikethrough messages by artist RERO take up residence in the basins and throughout the tour of the Paris Aquarium. With Immens(lim)ité, the Ocean speaks. It's a talkative creature. It tells us about itself, about us, about our interdependence, its magic, its tragic beauty, but also about our fears of it. He questions our place in Nature and the mark we leave on it. How do we come to realize that the immensity of the ocean is in fact limited, and that understanding this oxymoron is an essential key to its survival, and thus to that of humankind?
Intriguing, luminous and rich in modern, transgressive poetry, RERO's works have been presented at the MAC/VAL, Centre Pompidou, CentQuatre, Fondation Vasarely, Grand Palais and MAC Bogotá. Full of daring, his out-of-format installations have taken root on the dunes of the Moroccan desert, in the heart of Latin America and in the landscapes of California.
Today, the Aquarium de Paris gives him the opportunity to question the Ocean.
