As part of its "Japon! exhibition, the Aquarium de Paris is devoting a major carte blanche to Japanese artist Aki Kuroda.

Entitled "Aquacityspread over 3,500 m2 of the Paris Aquarium, this artistic journey plunges visitors into Aki Kuroda's cosmic garden, where, for the first time, the marine element enters the picture. Aki Kuroda's cosmos, his city, comes out of the frame: an unprecedented dialogue is established between the artist's impressive installations and the aquatic living world. Notions of nature, exchange, travel, time and man's place permeate each of Aki Kuroda's works, whether through the materials he uses, or the poetic cosmos he brings to life. "I'm a cosmic gardener who lets things grow freely", says Aki Kuroda.
